Touching the Stone

My fellow seekers, you have now had a meaningful experience with a dream, psychedelic journey or active imagination. You have worked with symbols, images or archetypes and have have likely deepened your relationship with Self and your limitless imagination.  I hope these experiences have been satisfying and hopeful. Now what?  Now we gather the gold that remains on the table and “touch the stone”.

“Touch the stone” is a phrase coined by a dear dreamer friend of mine Bea to describe the post dream ritual of blending the elements of our experience into the activities of our daily lives.  For my friend this blending is in service of the mundane stones, the despised aspects of our lives often banished into darkness upon waking.  With loving awareness these aspects can transform  into “stepping stones or walls, depending on how we treat them”.

To “touch the stone” is to ground energies that likely traveled from unconscious realms into waking awareness. By giving our experiences some focused attention for the next 7 to 10 days we can actively participate in an alchemical process that elevates the mundane into the stuff of philosophers, mystics and sages.

Through practicing a new behavior, creating art or participating in ritual the metaphorical rock becomes a touchstone for personal growth, wisdom and comfort. It can stabilize and unify.  Without this effort we run the risk of turning a well earned experience into nothing more than an interesting memory.  We are dreamers, psychonauts and imaginative warriors. Let’s fully claim our ground, our air our NOW and our destiny. To “Touch the stone” is probably much less complicated than you think, I promise.  If you need some professional guidance please contact me.

I believe in your genius.
